Pre facelift 147 has a little harsh ride. The suspension is not comfortable but at the same time lets the body roll and bottom out. Alfa used quite stiff springs with under dimensioned dampers that can’t control the body movements so well. With pre facelift I would change the dampers and it will help a lot.
Facelifted 147 has other springs that are 15mm longer uncompressed, but are softer and are combined with the same dampers as preface lift. This makes the ride much better comfort wise.
There is no discussion about Alfa seats, leather or cloth, normal or sports, all of them are great.
For the very tall persons 147 still has a track of the old italian monkey driving position. Imagining the triangle pedlas-steering wheel-seat you cant make all three points perfect. If you have pedals-seat right the steering wheel is too far away and you end up reachign for the top of the steering wheel or lifting your back. If you make steering wheel-seat right the pedals are too close and you need to bend the knees too much. But usually only persons with more than 185-190 cm like me suffer this.
