i have read the reports on this product is it just a con does anybody have any first hand knowledge on this product thinking off adding to gearbox on my alfa 156 v6.

Never heard of it, but I think it's probably inadvisable to add anything like this until you know what's wrong....

And even then.......!

Just had a quick google for it.

Put bits of ceramic into the engine/gearbox in the belief that it will adhere itself to the surfaces in order to reduce friction.

If you're going to do that you would need to re-inspect freqently to ensure that you haven't ended up with a T-Cut type of slurry in the oil that will wear everything. I can see how PTFE and molybdenum based aditives can lower friction, but these have been added by the manufacturer, possibly. Altering the viscosity of the oil is never a good idea. If the product were that brilliant, we'd be using it already.

You also need to remember that if the gear oil is too slippery it will stop the synchros from working properly.
