I have one more question on that matter...
Are the gaskets at EGR reusable? I suspect that I have a very small leak around that area that might be related to the EGR gaskets.
It started few months back when I fitted FMIC to my car, every time I was driving in a slow city traffic I could smell diesel exhaust fumes in the cabin. But smell disappeared once I was up to the speed. When I was working on my FMIC install I removed and cleaned EGR valve thoroughly. This smell was notable few weeks and then it disappeared completely.
Until yesterday, when I removed and checked the EGR valve again. EGR valve is working just fine and there is almost no soot inside, it closes and opens easily (i used Fiat ECU scanner to actuate the valve over OBD). But now I can smell diesel fumes again when I'm driving in slow traffic. This got me thinking that gaskets are "worn out" and that they should be replaced after removing EGR valve.
I'm almost 100% sure that there is no leak on my FMIC, as there is no oil anywhere on the pipes, joints or IC itself.
What do you think? Time to buy new gaskets, or should I use some kind of sealant?
