blue/black smoke 1.9JTD GT
Just looking for a little advise..
I've not long replaced the Intercooler to Turbo pipe on my 04 GT, as the old one had a whole due to the usual wear on the earthing point for gearbox.
I had expected this to stop all the black smoke being produced right away. Altough I would say it has been reducced, it is still a bit smokey.
I notice the smoke more with a cold engine, but it is still there when the engine is warm.
Added to that, the smoke does look a little blue when the engine is cold, but is black once it's warmed up.
Any idea what could be causing the smoke? I'm hoping the turbo hasn't been damaged by the faulty pipe I've now replaced!
I don't know the last time the car had a service (I was told 2000 miles before it was sold to me, but I see no evidence of that in the history) I've done a good 5-6,000 since I've had the car now.
I want to do an oil change ASAP, although the engine oil level is okay, the oil itself looks a bit black and is probably due a change. Any idea what oil I should use (1.9 JTDM) and how much I will need?
Thanks in advance!
