5 months with the odd VDC error, then today a MCSF which I couldn't get rid of.
Ok I know the battery must be going on 8 years old (2002 plate with an Alfa battery), and the window on the battery was white, and after a top up black, it's throwing out 12.7 volt, and 14.3 volt with the engine running.
So started checking her over, unplugging and plugging various plugs but no joy, battery off, back on starting it several times, and giving it a whiz round the block. Searched this site and considering getting the fault code read.
I'm not experiencing any power loss, but still hate the annoying light on the dash, similar to the bloomin' brake light out I had (nifty fix by dremil and a cable tie).
So I've done my research, and thought as a last hope I would clean the contacts with some WD40 and a cotton bud, but it's p!$5ing down, so instead I though I would give her one last chance..................can you believe it, cleared. So 3 hours in the dark and cold for what? I'm clueless to the issue, other than I parked it a garage for the first time last night.
I'll see how it goes and if it reappears I may have to get it to Ray Holt / Alfa Tune to have a looky.
Has anyone ever used Ray Holt in Birkenhead / Wallasey? Only asking as I don't want to waste the man's time, or mine for that matter.
Also can anyone recommend some form of diagnostics for a 2002 JTS, as I'm not sure if Alfadiag will work on it.
