No speedo and battery warning light
Lost the speedo pulling away from a garage today. Ironically it was after having a look at a reasonably tidy 159 sportwagon. Think my car has thrown a jealous hissy fit!
Noticed that the battery warning light had come on another 100 yards or so down the road. Also noticed that it had been a bit quieter today when I started it. It has been quite creaky when cold of late and I suspected an aux pulley bearing was on it's way out. So my initial thoughts are alternator failure
but would this explain the loss of speedo?
The headlights looked slightly dim but couldn't be sure, power steering and brake servo appear to be working and the car is drving fine otherwise.
Problems are similar to those described in this thread
except my speedo doesn't want to come back to life (so far).
