depends on what you compare

Hi, just bought a 2007 147 jtd 8v last week - and after a hol. now had chance to drive it more.

I traded it in for a 2002 Mini Cooper and i can honestly say it has more guts than the cooper - although i now realise i have developed a habit of accelerating through corners, which i think only suits the cooper. The alfa tends to dip unnervingly when cornering fast and the steering goes very light if cornering too hard/sharp - same as my old 145 1.6TS - again the 8v knocks spots off that

Not missing the Mini, but would have always had the 145 back....

My first impression on driving the 147 was how similar it is to the Golf Tdi i had a few years back (110bhp) - however the 147 jtd 8v beats it hands down pulling the power - definitely a marked difference when the revs get to 2000 plus .

So all in a good comparison for me - i don't want more power as i know i'll abuse it/get speed cammed/pay silly insurance .

(had a vectra 2.5 and took out Mr Fox with my front bumper by going too fast - and me a Leicester fan)
