My GT CD problem

Hey All,

Am loving my GT 1.9 with its great looks and economy. However, when it comes to sounds, I am at a loss. I have made some CDs with MP3s and close each disc/session. When I insert the CDs, the head stereo refuses to play them. Any ideas?

Is it MP3 compatable? I know that there is a certain way you have to have the files on the CD for them to play MP3's. Have a look in your manual and it should tell you what to do

If it's an MP3 disc you need the upgraded head unit with the MP3 reader to play them. Not many of those about though as I think it was about 250 just for this feature

If it plays MP3 files, it will have a MP3 logo on the front.

It sounds like you do not have this option (don't think it was available in the early model GTs).

If you defo have the 'mp3' cd player then try a different brand of disc and/or try burning the mp3's without putting them in folders, then if/once you've got that right then you can trial and error putting them in folders.

Took me a few goes to get it right - the manuals not much cop to follow about this.

That's not a bad shout, I've removed the original CD head unit from mine and replaced it with a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB radio, however, the previous owner left a CD in the original drive where all the MP3s were at the top level, maybe it was the only way he could get it to work too.

All the best
