I had similar/exactly the same issue with my '02 JTS Selespeed; would run fine for a while but would then start misbehaving from a standing start especially on warm days. There was also an issue where I couldn't get into reverse if the engine was warm. Sometimes I could rev-it past 3k to get it to grind into reverse but often it just wouldn't go at all.
I tried the EV0 fix which was to remove it, clean it and swap-out the o-rings (as well as to replace one of the terrible torx bolts that I rounded-out in the process) but the issues persisted past that. So after getting a cable and MES hooked-up I determined that whatever was happening seemed to only occur more frequently when the clutch temperature exceeded roughly 107deg Cel. In the end, the problem was completely fixed by adjusting the clutch rod (was initially 28.9mm, then 27.8 then finally 28.4), running an EOL through MES and then a self-calibration (the one where you launch from 2nd until you hit 3k RPM).
I now no longer fear the traffic-jams and the "learner-driver bunny-hops" they used to bring. If you have this issue, definitely invest in a diag cable and MES and get your spanners out. If a complete non-mechanic scrub like me can do it, anyone can.
EDIT: Problem is back after a week of normalcy. I'm going to revisit EV0 as I encountered a 'clutch valve' error when running another EOL.
