Well, finally got that bloody connector out of the Maf (skin will grow back on my hands, I hope) and gave it a run out but, apart from slightly smoother low end, it was exactly the same. Whilst out in it today I experienced just how bad it really is from 3k onwards plus the 'hesitancy' is more like a stutter (sounds like quick bursts of air pressure, almost like the old wastegate valves) and happens mostly when moving from light throttle to heavy. Even worse is the best price we were offered part ex (bearing in mind they don't know it has problems) was £2200 against a bloody Seat FR!! It's throwing diesel out the back at a faster rate than we can refuel it too (70 miles on £20 of fuel!!). We now have a choice: Into Lyles and removal/sale of a kidney, or 'park' it somewhere dodgy and wait for the call from the police! Tough choice.
