Well it went in anyway. Just a slight problem which I didn't notice till it was mostly back together, the pulley is larger on the new alternator than the old one which means the belt was a ******* to get back on. I'm hoping it doesn't mean the belt is too tight (it seems ok) but really not ideal.
Unfortunately I've fitted the part now so they probably won't take it back, plus it's a proper pig to get out so I can't be bothered. Hopefully it doesn't cause any bother. I think it's the alternator for the JTD if I'm honest, I don't know how they messed that up at the suppliers but at least it's working again.
Just got a couple of bits to sort out in the morning and I'll be back on the road.
