Unfortunately the belts often strip rather than just snap. You end up with a toothless section at the bottom pulley.
To answer your question about where the cam belt is located, if you look at the engine bay photo below (it is a 145 but the engine is the same) the cambelt cover is to the left of the oil filler cap. Sort of black with a red band. You may need to take a couple of the screws out of the cover to prise it open far enough to see the belt - I can't remember if they are Torx or Allen screws.
