Help Time for a NEW Turbo Charger, but why did it brake in the first place?

As we all know, fix the problem that killed the Turbo BEFORE fitting a new one.

In my case, this could be a difficult one.

The Turbo killed itself, suicide.

Severe damage to the Turbo wheel can be seen , due to a contact with the VNT vanes.

How the hell can that happen?

The design and factory adjustment must prevent any contact surely?

The last owner fitted it to the car some 18 months ago and it still looks like new (from the out site that is).

Was it a rebuild unit perhaps? (Garret says VNT's cannot be rebuild.)

The car has an Angel chip, still that would not have any impact on the adjustment of the Turbo mechanics, again the end stop on the Turbo should have prevented that.

What a sh...
