Hello and have I bought a lemon?
I've not driven for around ten years and just purchased a 147 Selespeed, very exciting, very pleased with it - BUT!
Checked the VOSA database for MOT history (after purchase as I wasn't aware of its existence until this evening) and under the MOT Failure it states:
Reason(s) for refusal to issue Certificate
Offside floor to sill Body or chassis has excessive corrosion, seriously affecting its strength within 30cm of the body mountings (6.1.3)
The garage mentioned and fixed all of the other items (pads, lights, tyres) but did not mention this and as far as I know the work wasn't done so I'm suspecting dodgy test garage.
Can anyone advise courses of action? I'm considering getting my local Alfa specialist to do a thorough check and if the above hasn't been remedied contacting VOSA and trying to get my money back - unless of course it's a cheap bit of welding, but I don't believe that is.
Help please! I was so pleased with my purchase and now my heart is braking!
