Air bag failure???

Just reversed the car into the garage and the red 'Air Bag Failure' light popped on. Is this a seriously get it fixed job or a wait and see it the light goes off after a couple of days?? Any help appreciated

Air bags usually do go off when you reverse (or drive) into something a solid as a garage

Seriously, the cause is usually a bad connection in the wiring. In the 156 it's usually a connector under one of the front seats, or in the boot on the off side - not sure about the 147. I'm sure someone will be along soon to give the answer.

Sometimes the light will re-set by itself, or it may need the fault cleared.

Yup. I'd disconnect the battery and give the connectors under the seats a good wiggle and maybe disconnect them and re-fit. Usually just one gets loose and causes an issue.

Failing that you can get the fault sorted usually by anyone with alfa diag.

Mine's needing a new airbag ECU to clear, but that's because the previous owner jump started it a few too many times (plonker).
