Irritatting Knocking on my 156

Had my 2001 1.8 TS for 4 months now, so far done the ARB & thermostat.

I had the ARB done as soon as i got it as it was making alot of noise. To begin with, problems all solved. Just recently the car has developed what seems to sound like something knocking on a hard point on the drivers side.

Its not particularly noticeable at the moment but it does seem to be getting louder.

I have checked the drivers side top engine mount which sounds sort of like where the noise is coming from, but it looks fine.

Is there any common fault points with the driverside suspension/engine mounts which might be causing the knock? I have checked the wishbones and they all look fine........

I have a similar problem. Well, it's more of a creaking noise. I had both front upper and lower wishbones replaced. I was also going to replace the ARB, as this seems to be a common problem. I've also got a creaking noise coming from the back. Possible trailing arms or drop link bushes worn? I've also replaced the front/rear shock absorbers. Seems like it wouldn't be an Alfa if it wasn't making some sort of noise.

Keep me posted with any progress. Hope you can get it sorted.

my car developed a knocking noise too thought it may be something majorly expensive, turned out to be the plastic undertray under the engine flapping about after parts of it becoming loose/broken
