The problem you are describing has nothing to do do with the clutch. Am i correct in assuming that you mean movement of the gearstick into gears?

if so, you have excessive corrosion on the gear selector plate pivot pin and/or worn bush on the gear lever ball joint.

Alfa clutches wear no worse than any other car.
