Starting Problems - Help please
Over the past few weeks I've started to get some problems when starting my 2.0 ts 147 after a short trip.
About two weeks ago I had a message 'Motor control failure' come up on the info system, teh car contimued to run well and the message wasn't accompanied by any problems at all. I spoke to a specialist straight away who advised it may be a false reading from the computer caused by the very cold weather and if the car drives normally then to keep using it and only book it in if the message remains.
After about 3-4 starts the message dissapeared and the vehicle continued to drive like normal. About a week ago, I had a very short trip of only about a 1/4 of a mile to fill up before my commute home. When I returned to the car, the engine just cranked over for a long time and wouldn't start. I tried a few times over the next ten minutes before eventually it started and ran normaly and the same 'Motor control failure message' came up. This was Christmas eve so couldn't book the car in and again, after a few starts the message went.
Did the same journey today and the same thing happened. Car only started after about about ten minutes of trying after I had a short journey. When I eventually got it running again the same message came up and the ran well normally.
Obviously, I'll get the car booked in tommorrow but any ideas what the problem may be? Any help much appreciated.
