Help 156 shutdown!! HELP!!

Driving home from work as usual in my 2004 156 1.9jtd 16v. 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear and then shutdown!! Turned over ok on the key but would not fire. After extensive diagnostic checks, my mechanic discovered that the injectors were not pulsing - no electrical signal. He searched in vain for an electrical wiring fault between the ecu and the injectors. He has come to the conclusion that it may be the ecu itself. I am aware that there are companies who specialise in ecu reconditioning. Do any of you know of any reputable & reliable ones??

Heres hoping,

I think I'd try digging a bit deeper before assuming the ECU was fried.

Did the mechanic check for or read the fault codes?

One possibility that springs to mind is the cam or crank sensor. If the ECU doesn't know where the crankshaft/camshaft is in it cycle, it won't be firing the injectors...

I have already suggested in your other post that it is possibly crank sensor.

My money would be on the crank sensor. When you remove the old one, make sure the O-ring comes out with it. If it doesn't, make sure you remove it before fitting the new crank sensor with new O-ring.
