Various electronics issues
I drive a 2001 147 2.0ts selespeed.
A few weeks ago I was driving and as I was overtaking a truck I changed to fifth. The revs shot up with no traction whatsoever. I pulled over and the car was idling normally but could not select any gears. Switched off and after a while tried to restart after the pump had re-set itself. Absolutely no luck. The car ignition switched on but the starter would not turn the motor.
For a few weeks before this I was getting VDC, Selespeed, ABS and airbag errors, which I attributed to a faulty clock spring. (No radio buttons or paddles working)
After getting the car back home, I removed the starter and finding no errors, refitted. Car now turns over and starts, but with little power and a permanent misfire.
Replaced the clock spring and the radio controls on the steering now works but the paddles still does not. All fuses checked and working. Selespeed oil levels checked and is ok.
When starting the car still gives airbag error, selespeed and ABS errors. Alfadiag does not give any errors but the cable may be the wrong item. (It is the 16pin Audi cable without the necessary modification to test airbag system). Also, I am new at using Alfadiag, so I may be testing or checking the wrong ECU or systems.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Going to check the coils and do compression test this afternoon.
