Hey guys... I have similar problem. I was driving along in my car yesterday, and one of my brakes started squealing while driving, but it stopped when I pushed the brake pedal. So I tried pulling the handbrake, to see if it was on the front or rear axle. And it turned out it was on the rear. But then after 1km I stopped in front of a shop and got out of the car. I noticed the smell of the brakes, it was coming from the left rear brake. I guessed that it must be one of my had brake cables sticking, because the handbrake lever motion wasn't so smooth last few months.
After I did my shopping I drove home, and after about 4km I got warnings all over my dashboard. EBD error, ASB error, ASR error, VDC error. And the beeper was beeping non stop. Brakes worked OK. So I kept driving home and listening to the beeps for another 15km. Which was annoying, but while driving I noticed that the beeping stoped if I drove under ~43km/h.
Anyway when I got home I hooked up my computer to the ABS ECU with Fiat ECU scanner. And I got C1216 Error (Rear wheel speed sensor) There was also something written there to check ABS ECU ground, sensor for the right resistance or bad connection of the sensor.
Then I went for a ride, and made a log of wheel speed sensors data...
This is what I got:
It looks like the left sensor is not doing its work right, like there is some kind of bad connection somwhere. I tried checking the connector of the left wheel sensor, I eventually found it in the boot under the carpet, but it didnt help. I also checked the cable of the sensor for some kind of split, and it looks like everything is fine.
What do you think might be the cause?
Do I need new wheel speed sensor or is there any other way to fix it?
