So have had the car (2001 2.4 JTD) for 9 months with no problems, but hadn't really taken it for any lengthy run. 60 miles at the most. This Christmas had a 160 mile journey to do up to Chester and all OK. Tank was 3/4 full, which I recconned would get me there and back.
Journey there, no problem. However, on the way back had to stop and fill up the wiper reservoir. Noticed a slight hesitancy when pulling away onto the slip road. Carried on and car seemed a bit sluggish. A couple of miles down the road when I wanted to pass someone, put the foot down and as engine approached 3000 revs, the management light came on. Lifted off and light went out again.
Same thing happened on a couple of other occasions. Hooked up the Fiat ECU scanner today for the first time and found the P0235 code in there.
Ran some diagnostics on it, which to me seemed fine, except for a little overboost.. But hey, I'm no expert.
Question is, could this result from fuel starvation or low fuel pressure?
My tank is really difficult to fill, spilling over even when 1/4 full, sort of indicating that the breather pipe is blocked. Would a vacuum build up in there have this sort of effect?
Have driven hard today, after filling up and hence releasing any negative pressure, and light did not come back on.
Thanks in advance
