Alfa 156 cambelt?????
I only jut got my 156 a few days ago it's a 2002 1.8 TSpark with 53,000 on the clock, the garage doesn't know if the cambelt has been changed or not at any point and i don't have much in the way of recipets either from the past, although the service book is fully stamped up, and the car appears in good condition so i assume it's been looked after.
I was wondering if anyone could confirm for the when the cambelt should be done cause according to my book Alfa say 72,000 miles but i've read in several places online that they recommend 36,000 - pretty big difference really so which is right and roughly what would i be looking at to get the belt and tensioners changed?
P.S on the plus side it's my first Alfa i've had several Fords, Vauxhalls, even a Citroen (trouble from day 1) and a Chrysler and this is by far the nicest car i've ever driven so quiet and comfortable, a couple of minor niggles on it such as needing a new thermostat and the plastic undertray flapping about over the bumps but for £2000 who can complain really still a great car and apart from what i mentioned in tip top condition so far as i can tell
