Boot Open problem fixed

I thought I would share a problem I have just had and the solution. My central locking had decided not to talk to the alarm when the remote was pressed, easy enough to fix, the receiver under the parcel shelf was replaced for about 200.

Then the car displayed a "boot open" and prevented me from locking the car altogether after a few days! Turns out that it was the boot light earthing to the body of the car and was telling the ECU that the boot was open, a quick push back of the light in its housing sorted the problem out.

I also noticed at the same time that the cable in the loom in the rubber housing in the boot were in a pretty bad shape, these were not causing a problem yet but would have eventually, these cables were cut off and new ones resoldered. Hopefully, alarm and central locking will be ok for a while now...

And this was on a 156 facelfit 53 plates.
Hope this helps someone.
