It is always something with the GT, isn't it?
I've got a 2004 GT 1.9 JTD, which is really lovely. Though, I think they made it so that anything has to be fixed at a garage. Replaced the left front sidelight and rear number plate light a while back, and both were not the easiest jobs to take the lights out. And yesterday, I realized that the left dipped-beam headlight doesn't give light. But interestingly, there is no error displayed. Anyways, checked the 10A fuse under the steering wheel, as shown in the owner's manual, and it seems alright.
I couldn't see anything inside the projector when I looked from the front of the headlight, so, I went and got philips x-treme h7's to try and replace them. Came home, and worked for half an hour scratching my hands to open the back cover, and finally managed to do it.
Though, I saw that there is an electric plug with a 'Danger' sign on it, and when taken off, there is this round bottom of the bulb, which made me suspect that I am actually dealing with xenons
luckily I didn't give myself a high voltage shock, which the owner's manual had a warning about.
Before asking a mechanic to change it, could someone advise on what I can check to figure out the problem, which the dashboard doesn't display. Is the same fuse used for xenon low beams? Are they changed in pairs, and does any hardware need to be replaced?
Thanks in advance...
(attached picture is the right headlight, but just wanted to show the front of the light, the blurry lens one in the middle)
