156 Handbrake Observations
Had a good play in the snow yesterday and I have the following observations regarding the 156 (2001 TS 2.0 with minor brake mods).
Easily the best handling snow mobile I've experienced outside of a Mini Cooper (proper one, not a BMW) or an MG Midget.
You can balance it on the handbrake and get adequate power down and traction despite the relatively large tyres.
Following some friends in their (hugely powerful) rear wheel drive car it was obvious they were not enjoying the snow so much.
The only problem I got was an ABS light after about twenty uses of the stop stick. I may or may not have broken it but as mine is in disposable car territory I don't much care!
Just driven 40 miles to work in my Citroen C5 which, in contrast, is no fun in the snow, probably something to do with a handbrake that operates the front brakes not the rears.
Merry Xmas everyone!
