Changing 2.4 JTD glowplugs

Any how too guides around?

156, 2001, 10v engine.

I had the cover off today, and really wondering how you can reach them they are so recessed !

What tool do I need to get to them?

im looking for guide too - how to change glowplugs on a alfa 156 2,4jtd - seems to be very narrow space, so do you have to remove air intake manifold first to get to the glowplugs?

You can get to them OK- I did my own ones only the other month. You don’t need to take anything major off at all, a couple of little bits mounted to the inlet manifold - you certainly do not need to take the inlet manifold off. A nice extension bar will do the trick (1/4 drive is best as gives you that little bit more room), and some long nose pliers to pull the electrical plugs off them. In all honesty I can't remember if I used a universal joint at one point or not, it’s quite time consuming but not a hard job.

It's not a difficult job; no need to remove the manifold but you do have to loosen the fuel return rail to improve access.
