Greetings all! First post on here as a brand spanking new Alfa owner.
Bought myself a 156 v6 yesterday and it's fitted, among the multitude of other new parts with a full de-cat Cybox exhaust. The old cat was thrown in with the purchase and I wondered what people's thoughts were about the following :
1. Whether it will pass MOT in April without the original cat on?
2. What difference to the beautiful sounds putting the old part back on will make?
3. If there will be any peformance or economy change?
Hi and welcome to the world of Alfa.
I have the same cybox system fitted to my Alfa and in answer to your questions,
1.Legally, no it can not pass an mot, you will have to refit the original cat or your mot station has to allow you to use another car for the emissions test, but this is illegal
2.The decat makes a difference to the sound but not that much.
3.Yes there will be a performance change you lose anywhere between 5 and 10 bhp.
4.If your worried about economy why by a V6
Enjoy your Alfa experience
