Cruise Control ...

At what point does the green light come on ... do you have to be going a certain speed before the light comes on? or does it come on whilst stationary??

Yes - comes on any time the ignition is on and the cruise control main switch is 'on', even without the engine running. As shown in my YouTube video you would have watched

Bit odd that there is no light or indication for when the cruise control is actually set and controlling the throttle.

Some people report that it takes several ignition on/off cycles before the ECU recognises the presence of the cruise control. That wasn't the case with mine, but I did notice when I used AlfaDiag to connect with the Motronic ECU, it showed the cruise control was 'Present' even when there was no switch stalk installed.
