JTD Tray over engine

My JTD has a nasty plastic tray over the top of the engine. I assume this is a standard alfa thing.

Are there any known consequences to removing it?

Yes, not pretty underneath. Must be there to offer some kind of protection to the bits and pieces under it. But possibly purely for asthetic reasons. You could look for carbon or carbon look equivalents. lads and lasses in my town spend fortunes covering their cars/engines in the stuff. Mainstream popular cars are generally well served by after market suppliers. Maybe the alfa's are as well..not sure!

Good luck, Steve

Why not try this:Engine Cover Painting - Astra Owners Network Forum | MK1 - MK6 | VXR | T8 | T9 | Zafira | Astra Van

But not orange. I saw a cover on this site that had been painted in the colours of the Italian flag.

My engine cover is in the boot, got fed up with taking it off an on every time I wanted to check something or tinker. Might replace it with a brick and mortar one to combat the wheelspin.
