So, once again I call on the help of the best Alfa forum
Yesterday, I started my 2002 156 2.4JTD and drove out the car park at work, no sooner had I pulled out the car park, all power dropped. I couldn't go over about 3000rpm. Tried to get home (65 miles) like this but after 5 miles of doing 40mph on the dual carriageway I pulled into a layby and called the RAC.
He turned up and had a look, plugged in the diagnostics and the only fault was a Glow Pluc circuit problem (which I have had a while). He cleared it and as soon as he did power came back and I got home with no issues.
Today, I started her up and straight away she was in limp home mode again. I grabbed my cable and ran UniDiag and there were no errors at all. Reset the ECU and restarted, same issue. Tried a few times to turn off and restart and then was just looking at some of the readings (air temp etc in UniDiag) and it suddenly started working fine again.
Now, it seems every time I start it goes into limp home mode. Sometimes for 10-20 seconds and sometimes a lot longer. The last time I hooked up the diags I got the P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem.
The strange thing is I don't get any warning lights when the power is reduced.
Any suggestions as to what it could be would be gratefully received.
