156 2.4 10v JTD 2000 service help

Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and new to Alfa's
I am just about to embark on fixing my newly bought 2000 156 2.4 10v JTD 120,000miles.
I am planning to:
Replace cam belt and tensioner
Water pump
Aux belts and Aux tensioner
Remove intake manifold and clean (new gasket?)
Remove EGR valve and clean
Clean butterfly valve, when I figure what the hell it is.
Remove and clean MAF.
Oil change, and Fuel filter.
And Tappet adjustment, if i can find the information.
R/R rear brake pads

I have tools, I have stands and safety gear, I have Alfa cam tools, I have elearn, access to many 'how to's' on the web. I don't have a workshop, and don't have compressed air.

Does anyone have any advise for me please.
Especially how to change Aux tensioner, and slightly moving the engine. Wether a jack and stands will suffice.
Also what oil does every one recommend. I have heard Selenia 5W-40 synthetic is the way, but was thinking of Selenia 10W-60, or Halford's 5W-50 Synthetic, due to higher miles.
I will be doing it outside, and possibly in the drizzle.

Thanks for all your help, as any is better than none.
This is for my peace of mind and enjoyment

Just to continue through my ordeal.
I have now discovered that I spend more time doing armchair mechanics than actually being under the car.
I have discovered I have no EGR, so don't need to worry about that, and so no inlet manifold cleaning.
The butterfly valve I was referring too, well was never sure but believed it was connected to the EGR, not a petrol carb butterfly valve.
So have Aux belts off, covers off, and 'tightener' tensioner off, and struggling with one bolt on power unit reaction rod attachment bracket, thank you who ever told me to get a ribe kit, and have bought more leverage, though lacking in space.
Tomorrow, I hope to complete it, now my parts have arrived.
Any one have tips for the water pump?
Installation of aux tensioner?
making your own belt tightening tool, or using several different ones?
And will check tappets, and then look into getting tools and shims. But is there another tools you can use instead of the 'alfa' tool for the tappets?
Thanks to all that help.
