Correct Headlight Level
Having had my 147 for 7 months have just had the MOT (2 months overdue!) anyway, it needed the nearside headlight adjusting to the correct level....no problem there, but still got charged 5 quid for the privilege.
Shortly afterwards I had a full car and had to adjust the levelling, again no problem but once I had to adjust the lights back to single occupancy, the offside lamp was pointing far to close the the front of the car, so took it back in to the garage, who kindly reset it for free, even though it wasn't the same lamp as required adjustment to pass the MOT.
So all seemed fine until last weekend I had another car of five and duly adjusted again; this time when I came to use it just on my own I raised the lamps; the offside now points far to high, ie is fully lighting up road signs, so I now have the lamps currently set down to reduce the glare.
The motors appear to be raising and lowering the lamps in unison but the offside lamp appears to be falling out of correct level.
a) Is this a problem anyone else has had?
b) Before going back to the garage and it costing, does anyone have the figures for lamp positioning and any pictorial guidance as to which adjuster need fiddling with? so I can do it myself. Iv'e found some adjustment threads but wasn't clear what effect I was having.
