Help a different clutch problem

My 156 2.0 t spark has been sorned for 2 months, decided to get it back on road. Started ok pushed down clutch peddle put in gear let foot off peddle but it stayed down, could pull it up by hand now no pressure. Disconnected slave cylinder at bellhousing to release pressure but clutch still dissengaged ( can still put in gear with engine running, no drive)

PEDAL remains on floor - blown slave or master cylinder,

Engages gear with engine running but pedal remains on floor - master cylinder return spring,

What you describe - impossible, you'd have to have stripped every tooth from the mainshaft spindle or shattered the pressure plate, neither of which I've seen.

Could the slave not have seized open leaving the clutch disengaged?

the usual problem when cars are left standing is that the clutch centre plate gets stuck to the flywheel so even when the pressure plate is operated the clutch cannot be disengaged. You appear to have the opposite sympton, you've disengaged the clutch once, now it wo'nt engage. It might be worth putting tha car in neutral and leaving it to run for an hour or so, so that it warms right through the flywheel and clutch to dry out any moisture. you then might have a chance that things wil start to move again. It's a long shot but your only alternative is to take the box out.
