Cracked Exhaust Manifolds? Are They Common?
Was wondering if anyone can help me with this exhaust blow I have on the car.
It is coming from under the engine bay, which suggests manifolds? I thought I had located the source of it on the rear exhaust manifold, and replaced all nuts and gaskets, but has made difference.
I have even had the car over a pit in a workshop, left the engine running, but am still unable to trace the exhaust leak! My only other guess can be a cracked manifold, I am thinking possibly the front one, although I wasn't aware that this was a common fault on the 156?
Just wondering if perhaps anyone could help? It does ever so slightly quieten down once the car is up to temperature, which makes me think that perhaps I have a hairline crack in one of the manifolds, although trying to trace the leak is a nightmare !!!
