I've read various threads about the hassle of changing bulbs. I don't have a garage & at this time of year I don't want to spend any longer doing this job than I have to.
I've also got an MX5 & changed both bulbs on it in less time than it took to take the Alfa lens caps off...
Two separate difficulties. One of the black lens caps won't come off. The 'lug' for pushing to turn with one's thumb is part broken. I cant turn it by hand. It's the offside inner one (high beam?) It may be possible to get a screwdriver on it (but acutely angled...) as a drift, but I'm wary of destroying it. Suggestions please. Might a kettle of hot water help?
Also, on the offside outer bulb, the bulb doesn't seem to be held in place properly & I'm struggling to release the clip &
the connector plug.
Reading other threads, there was a suggestion of taking a picture to asist when working 'blind'. I wasn't able to get a good picture of the the loose bulb, so I photo'd another.
Does the plug just pull straight off the bulb, or need pressed in a particular way?
Looking at the picture does the clip need pushed away & apart on the RIGHT side, & 'hinges' on the left side?
Any hints much appreciated.
