2.5 156's temp sensors question
I'm still fighting with poor mixture and detonations when V6 starting from cold and have question about the temp sensors.
I'd use different wire loom when changing 2.0TS with 2.5V6. Originally engine-to-ECU wire loom was for 2 temp sensors. As far as i can remember the left sensor(pictured below) wires goes to radiator-fan resistors(i may be wrong), and right sensor was with 2 pins(have it in my garage),connected directly to ECU pins E28 & E29 for reading engine temp.
Now i use sensor from 2.0TS engine, with 3 pins, temp readings is similar with the original 2pin sensor(measured with Alfadiag). Have no idea how to use left sensor, i guess that when temp reach about 95-100C it short-cuts and started the rad fans, but i may be wrong.
Any guesses if left sensor measured coolant temp, and gives ecu some info about it, thus affecting fuel mixture?????
