Being a alfa owner for many years i decided to get myself one of the above.I intend to keep the car for weekend use only as i have my saab for daily use.As there dont seem to be many of these cars around it would be nice to hear from other owners.thanks
Have had mine for about 18 months now and haven't looked back!
I tend to use it mostly in auto-city mode, but it's great fun in manual or 'sport' mode!
I will get around to posting some photos... eventually!
thanks for the reply,i also use it in city mode most, but will agree it really flies using the manual gear mode.look forward to some pics, sorry i cant post pics as my pc has a fault with its usb.what colour is yours, age, mileage and have you had any trouble with the car.look forward for any replies
I bought mine in June, very happy with it so far. Mostly in city mode but is fun in sport mode too, which I kick in when I head into the side road up the office car park
Mine's silver, y2000 with 101K miles, no prob's so far. Was a bit worried to see pink fluid under the car, but looks like the box has been overfilled. I'll get that sorted when I put it in for service/belts sometime soon.
Very happy with mine but a real pity the gearbox doesnt have more gears. Gearbox takes a lot of punishment as long as you dont run it with low fluid, have had mine on the track too without problem.
I only use City or manual - dont like the way Sport holds the gears to 5,000rpm even when on light throttle and better to use manual mode.
The system is pretty clever, in manual mode in 2nd gear at 6000rpm I've gone into 1st instead of 3rd - car just stays in 2nd and beeps until you put it into 3rd - pretty fail safe
Also FYI there is a little switch below the gear lever gaitor which will allow you to move the gear level out of Park - I guess to be used if you didnt have the ignition key for towing. Happened a few times to me that even with the engine running and foot on the brake it still wouldnt come of out park and that little switch overrides the gearbox lock

Glad to here that the transmission is pretty tough,to be honest ive not had it above 3000rpm as im still getting to know it.But i do agree with the sports mode holding on a long time to a gear,it seems to be above 60mph before it changes to 3rd.but i will say i do like it lots and as you say manually selecting is fun.
I've just got a Q-System V6 156. 1999 on a V plate. How much fun is that Hgate? Its brilliant. Just put it in first and listen to the engine sing. With you sport mode though, dont use very much if at all. Glad I got it
two years with mine and the honeymoon period is still fully sensual.
these cars are a great balance between city and fun use.
In New Zealand we seem to have just the right mix-I use the manual mode for rural areas and the City mode for town,The sport or squirt mode is for special moments and a little too aggressive for daily use
