147 ABS problem at slow speads.
hello there, this is my first time on the forum. I have had a brief skim through for this problem but couldnt find it anywhere. If anyone can advise me on the problem i would be extremely greatful.
I have a 147 1.6 t-spark, 51 reg. Basically there is a problem with my alfas ABS, where it starts going off when the car slows down to between 5 and 10 m/h. this also includes breaking when reversing (which is a really wierd time to feel the abs kick in). But this only seems to occur after i have driven it for about 10 minutes. I checked to see if the ABS still functioned when i made an emergancy stop and it does, so thankfully it still works in case of emergencies.
I took it to autohause garages and they took a good look at it saying the ECU contained some sort of error signal concerning the ABS, so they cleared it (this description is based on a very limited knowledge of cars so i apologise if some of it doesnt make sense). It didnt resolve the issue tho. I took it back to them and they had another look at it and ended up saying it definately wasnt a problem with the breaks or sensors, so they said it must be an issue behind the dashboard where it must be a problem with the wiring. So they have advised me to take it to Alfa, but i thought i should try asking on a forum for some advice. If anything so i dont get ripped off by Alfa or benfield motors, whoever i end up taking it too.
Does anyone have any advice or experiance with this issue and can anyone tell me what i should say to an alfa dealership if i have to take the car to them to limit them ripping me off? Any help would be really appreciated, please dont hesitate to ask if you want any more info. ill try to satisfy any requists for info if i can. thanks alot alfa lovers
