I thought I was doing pretty well at the moment for a complete novice?
I wouldn't have thought that the raised valves were unusual apart from the fact that my so called 'mechanically minded' friend mentioned it and got me a bit worried.
Of course I know now that I was just being stupid and I've removed the cams and everything else apart from the valves. I bought this car as an MOT failure (welding, CV boot, lamp alignment and blue smoke). It's a £250 PROJECT, not a 20K+ Brera and if I fit the head back on, turn the key and it all goes pop then so be it. I've only spent £200 so far and I don't plan to spend lots more.
In saying that I've grown rather attached to this old 156 so maybe it is worth having Iain help me tackle the more complicated parts!!!
