Maf Sensor

Wanted to run these symptoms past everyone.

Nearly every other day the warning light comes on on the dash, see the link:

It as you will know drops into safe mode and cuts the revs drastically up to 2500-3000 rpm.

I can feel the power drop before the light comes on aswell so i know the warning light is going to come on, thats how bad it has got lol.

If i turn the engine off and turn the ignition on and off 4 or 5 times most times it usually turns off the warning light and brings back the power.

I have shut off the engine today, un plugged the maf sensor while it was warning light on and re started the engine, light stayed on revs were cut still, idle was up and down quite noticeably.

When i plugged the maf sensor back in the and started the engine the light went out and the power came back.

Wont be long till it comes back on again though :-(

Came anyone confirm what the cause of this is please so i can check if its what i think it may be.

Cheers, Jase

Putting it on AlfaDiag to read the fault codes would be the best way forward...

It will be good idea to compare ambient temp, with air(and coolant) aprox readings too. Most common fault is maf, but without examiner you wont find any correct answers.

Mmmm. Not sure its the MAF, at least your symptoms are not the same as mine were. When I unplugged the MAF it ran OK (with the warning light on) up to 5K revs where it pretty much stopped. A new bosch MAF fixed it.
