Good evening all.
I was looking for a 147 and after driving a 1.6, to my surprise i really didnt like it! I had been on this very helpful forum and got all the info. Now i was scouring autotrader today and just suddenly on the spur of the moment decided to visit Veloces to view a 156. It is a very tidy 2.0 jts on a 05 plate with 44,000 miles on the clock.
It drove beautiful and IMHO is so much more of what i was expecting from an Alfa!
It has all main dealer stamps in the service book apart from the last one earlier this year, but there arent any receipts of any sort at all. It has also been written on in pen on the last 2 services - cambelt changed, but no paperwork to back it up. I phoned the first dealer (AR) but they seem to have gone out of business. The second one will be able to confirm tomoz as the person that deals with the records wasnt there today!
I have also tried to phone the previous owner as i got the details off of the log book when they werent looking, but that hasnt worked either.
Does this all seem ok? Veloces said they give a year warrenty and if we cannot confirm whether the cambelt has been done, and it did break within the year, then they would cover it in the warrenty.
What else do i need to look out for and common faults on the 156 2.0 jts?
What can i expect out of a tank of petrol in mostly town driving?
Thankyou in advance for all of your help and comments
