I just noticed one thing today which convinced me my handbrake is totally nuts.
I normally park out of gear and with the handbrake on (might change this habit, now that cold weather is coming). Anyway, on several occasions I found the handbrake lever in the 'off' position the next morning, so I thought I must've forgotten to pull it.
Today, when I got to work, I parked the car and sat for a few minutes with the engine idling and the handbrake on. Suddenly, the handbrake disengaged and the lever went all the way down.
I find this particularly stressful as I have the bad luck of living / working in a hilly area and most of the parking spots around aren't on flat ground. I'd really prefer not finding my Alfa rammed into another car, so any idea what's wrong and/or how to fix it?
