I don't want to add confusion to an already confusing thread, so I'll try to be as succinct as possibe. I replaced my hopeless nivomats last year on the good advice of autolusso, with used complete assemblies from a veloce saloon, including shocks, springs and top mounts. The ride height is fine, exactly the same as the fronts, and the feel is much improved. I do not carry big loads, so do not know whether they are too soft - they certainly don't feel it.
Reading through, the answers are actually given - It seems the sportswagon did not (generally) come in lowered spec unless you ordered with nivomats, which I believe was an option. Therefore if you replace with the correct non nivomat alternative you will receive the 'correct' pn for the SW, but of course this will be for the standard (non lowered) ride height.
Regarding the top mounts, when I looked into it all, the general consensus was not to use the nivomat ones for reasons unclear, some said you could not, which has now been dismissed above, and others that they affect the height slightly too.
Hence the original poster here has ended up with the height affected by both non lowered springs, and possibly by the nivomat mounts.
Conclusion is either to fit nivomats, original saloon veloce complete, or aftermarket kit. I'm pleased with my choice on both performance, appearence, and cost.
