Ok, glad i found a recent topic regarding this, as i am starting to worry about my alfa.
I haven't really noticed until last week what sort of MPG i was getting, it seemed to be doing pretty well, nothing amazing though, but i put this down to it being a new car to me and maybe i was tickling a bit more often than i should.
Its a 2.4 10v 140bhp JTD with an angel tuning remap and a CDA induction.
I recently put £50 of BP ultimate in the car, which was 42.5 litres (just shy of 10 gallons), the tank read roughly three quarters on this, and i drove home about 60 miles down the dual carriage way. so far the car has clocked up 200 miles since i put in the £50, and its literally about to get to the point where the light comes back on!
this is scary. i had hoped for 35 to 40mpg with this car minimum, i don't thrash it by any means, i just use the torque when needed.
I'm hoping it may be the BP ultimate diesel thats caused it to suck the fuel down? Some people have mentioned that the old 10v JTDs don't like fancy fuel, anyone else agree??
I was considering removing the CDA induction as with all previous cars i have noticed a dramatic decrease in MPG when adding aftermarket inductions and thought that may be the cause?
or is 30ish mpg the norm for a remapped and CDA'd 10v 2.4 JTD?
if so i may have to move on, i love the car to bits, but sold my subarus and more recently a 35-40mpg GTI-6 peugeot to buy the alfa and save some money on fuel, but if its going to eat fuel constantly i can't live with it.
any and all help/advice/experience seriously appreciated!!
