Okay here we go.
I picked up a replacement light from Autolusso - they have a 2.4 JTD SW that they are braking at the moment with very nice black leather interior - but the screws that hold the light to the spoiler are also rusted up solid. I started with the light on my SW (the one from AutoLusso was the wrong colour) I used loads of plus gas on it and guess what - it didn't do a thing the 3mm allen fitting just rounded off. So I try a screw extractor and it comes off exept not where it was expected - the capture nut that screws into the spoiler is unscrewed not the bolt.
So on to the other one I try the same thing lots of plus gas and zero effect, so I end up drilling the bolt head out as I need this light intact. I now go off to see my local Afla dealer to see if I can get replacement capture nuts and the answer appears to be no (all captured fittings are part of the item and not supplied seperately).
I have refitted the working light to my SW by manufacturing (alright bodging) a fix - I got hold of some waterpoof clear duck tape and used some silicon sealant to give it some extra grip but I realy need to fix it properly.
Ideas anyone ?
When I was wandering round looking at the bone yard at Autolusso I noticed that all the rear lights on all the SW's had rusted in bolts.
