White lithium is safe and no, they are standard bushes.
Cheers for the confirmation
I didn't think standard bushes were available by themselves, and I think you said before that rust on the bar can be a problem (chewing through new bushes), so I thought you were in favour of changing the whole bar.
You wouldn't like my 'temporary' solution to the dramatic knocking noises - I noticed that although the bar couldn't be moved freely up and down, it shifted easily left-and-right with a loud clonk. I did look at the subframe bolts, but with no replacement bushes on hand, and only a couple of hours to work on the car, I came up with a quick 'fix' (I then spent the other hour and 50 minutes replacing brake hoses, calibrating the Selespeed, and changing the oil!).
I loosened the bolts for the bracket on one side, and pushed the bar over to the other side, getting about 5mm between the bush and the metal collar on the bar. I applied a cable tie to the bar (between the bush and the collar), and then applied another cable tie on top of the first for good measure (see pic). When I tightened the other side bracket, the cable ties were held tight between the bush and the collar. Their purpose is to take up the distance and stop the bar moving left and right.
I've done over 300km now with at least much less of a knocking - now I can hear the left upper wishbone balljoint, knocking under braking or light cruising. No quick fix for that (as far as I know?) so I'm counting down the days (28) until I get to the UK, and bring the wishbones, ARB bushes, and cambelt kit etc. home in a suitcase by Christmas, hopefully saving hundreds of dollars...
