From what I could see of the oil cooler pipes that connect to the motor, they are oxadised a little bit, as in they don't have a browny rust colour, but merely like a chalky white/blue colour (could not see the other end or the oil cooler it self) I am assuming this is just the beginning of the corrosion. Must have been changed recently.
The owner has had it serviced every 20 000km from new, says the water pump and timing belt was done at 60 000km. As I understand the 1.9jtd engine only needs it done every 72 000miles (115 000km) but recomended at 50 000 miles (80 000km) so no need to outlay for that for atleast another 30-40 000km. Full dealership service history, I know it doesn't mean it is better than other aces, but it means that more likely parts that are starting to ware have been changed anyway (we all know how dealership service centres take as much as they can lol works to my advantage this time). car has 100 000km (62 000miles), for me it is high milage but considering the owner travels 65km on a freeway every day to work explains why the car doesn't feel like any other 100000km milage car I have driven before. Being a well maintained diesel, 6 speed manual, should be fine as far as alfas go anyway. Only noise out of the ordinary is at lower speeds the bot lid shakes a bit, meant to just be the spacers needing adjusting where the boot lid touches the rear bumper bar area????
Such a nice highway car though, very smooth and quiet, does 100km/hr with no effort 1800rpm, took it up to 160km/hr to see how it would handle driving in Germany and Italy, just fine. Feels more like my CLS back in Australia rather than an Italian car, I am still extremely surprised how refined they are.
Pics for sure. Put deposit down yesterday so should have it by next Friday.
