Basically it goes in cycles, 12, 24, 36, etc,
12K / 1 year= minor service,
24K / 2 years= Minor service plus coolant, brake and gearbox fluid replacement.
36K / 3 years= minor service plus cambelt.
48K / 4 years= 24K service
60K / 5 years= Minor service plus plugs.
72K / 6 years= 24K service plus cambelt.
Then carry on this pattern to infinity adding 12K or 1 year whichever soonest to the cycle.
Each time the car is serviced the 1 year or 12K count is zeroed, this means that a car that does 12K / month could be serviced 12 times a year and have had 4 cambelts fitted in that time.
There are checks I've ommited from the servicings but that is just to simplify the reply.
