My name is herman and I'm from Holland. Since yesterday I'm a member of this (fantastic) Alfisti website. Been searching around for a while now, and I think I can use a bit of your advise.
I'm driving a 156 1.9jtd, 2002-2003 latest model. Unfortunatly this one didn't have the audio steeringwheel controls.... About 2 weeks ago I've bought a complete set; steeringwheel, incl. clockspring and cruise control (which was allready installed in my car).
The only thing that I still haven't figured out is this; on the back of this unit is the connectioncable (with 8 wires) what seems to have been connected with the green mini Iso bracket on the back of the (original) radio/cd player. Problem is, that there are only 3 wires needed on that spot; so what are the functions of the other 5 wires, and do they need to be connected as wel?
The green mini iso plug is the one the 3 wires are connected to, that is correct, the yellow one is only used in case of the Bose Sound system.
The problem, I'm dealing with is the black cable that is comming out of the clock-spring unit; it has been cut off, and that's it. There are the 8 wires coming from, and now there's the question; what to do with them; are they necessary or not?
Maybe a picture of the green mini Iso plug wiring can help me out, but a wwiring diagram would be much better of course.
I Hope you can help me out; on the dutch 156 forum I got no response, and Alfa dealers don't seem to be willing to help me either....
